Since the vision of ‘The Green Revolution’ is to nurture through cohabitation with nature, design begins with human experience, considering the physical, mental and emotional need of people with an approach to promote health, safety and welfare.
There is no doubt that there is more about the plants than just aesthetics. They are beautiful, healthy and the benefits far outweigh the costs and maintenance.
The design aimed to reinforce the power of green plants by using white brick for the walls and keeping the stark contrast intact. In addition to adding ambience and accentuating the dominant style of a space, white brick rarely dictates the style itself. It serves as a Canvas for the plants and sleek shelves. It helps to highlight the pop of color of different plants and flowers, while also refreshing the space and making it feel welcoming and inviting. Use of white brick also helped in providing flexibility in terms of accessories, color schemes & furniture design. Materials like wood, rattan and bamboo helped to create an earthy rustic feel. Wood is a prominent feature of the design along with rich, dark as well as natural materials to promote tranquil sanctuary. The Design is simple, natural, and has an earthy feel about it. Since ‘nature’ is key, the use of modern materials like metal, plastic etc has been minimized So rather than finding sleek, glossy - more reclaimed and unfinished woods and stones can be seen in the design. The floor of the design is simple light toned with just a strip of decorative tile around the floor. To make the ceiling interesting, the exposed ceiling concept has been embraced in the design which also makes the space feel more spacious.
To bring people closer to nature through art and design, a wooden table has been placed in the center for pottery workshops where the participants will be able to explore the wonderful world of clay and create their own decorative pottery and art pieces. With green plants at all levels, the eye is drawn upwards, downwards, and across the room, creating visual interest and an inviting asymmetrical look without clutter. They also add a touch of energy to the space. And evoke a connection to nature and the outdoors. The use of wood, helps to keep the look of the space fresh. The earthy feel of the space comes from the woven pendant lights hanging in a haphazard style. The space has a variety of textures from wood rustic furniture, pendant lamps, wall hangings, and artwork, to planters made of different kinds of materials, yet everything blends together seamlessly, while providing a cozy and inviting look while maintaining a holistic approach to design.
